In class today we did the following:
1. Dr H gave a presentation on Topic #5 Observations of Climatic Change & Variability in the Past & Present

2. As part of the lecture we watched a video segment from NOVA Science Now on Profesor Lonnie Thompson. See also the interview with Dr. Thompson at this LINK
3. Students then got in their groups for the first time and worked on the G-1 Group Footprints & Global Change. Responsibility for helping out iwth group work will be distributed to different group memebers as the semester progresses. Everyone will need to earn "GPR (Group Participation Responsibility) credit by taking turns as Group Leader, Note Taker, etc. Dr H took photos of the groups for the group folders. Since there wasn't time to complete it, more time will be given next Thursday in class. Students were told to HOLD ON to their Individual Assignment I-1 PART A papers for use in Thursday's class and later in I-1 PART B.
