ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr H finished up the Thermodynamics topic:

2.  Dr H then went on to give a presentation on  Energy Transformations & Kinetic Energy:  The Laws of Motion & Momentum

3.  We watched  video on "Understanding Car Crashes:  It's Basic Physics" which included the answers to the questions on pp. 49-50 of Class Notes.    Did the Understanding Car Crashes video go too fast for you to get down all the answers??  Probably did!  So visit D2L and click on the VIDEO icon so where you can watch it again!

  IMPORTANT:  To be grade-able your file must be readable!  Submit it in .doc format – NOT .docx , .odt  .cwk  or others
  If you already submitted in one of these other formats, use SAVE AS to save your file in the .doc format and re-submit it  please.
  
  PRINT SCREEN problems ?   Read the directions in the link on the online version of the I-2 Directions.
  
  
  
• •Class attendance over the NEXT 3 CLASSES is CRITICAL !! These classes will be needed to complete the I-3 Individual Assignment, THE BCP TREE-RING ACTIVITY -- if you miss one of these classes it will have to be made up.
  
  
• TEST #2 is next Tuesday Oct 6! The “Top 10” will be posted by Friday night
  

SOME TEST #2 HINTS & SUGGESTIONS
•  The TOP 10 will  be posted  by tomorrow night
•  There is a SELF TEST in D2L on Laws of Motion to guide you to important points and practice questions  (there is no corresponding RQ)
•  There will also be SELF TEST QUESTIONS in the upcoming slides – these Q’s will give you an idea of what kinds of questions will be on the test
• Question #10  on Test #2 WILL involve something related to SKELETON PLOTTING, PATTERN MATCHING & CROSSDATING – so be sure you understand these concepts. For example, could you produce a HAND DRAWN skeleton plot if given a “paper” tree ring core? ? ? ?

• Review the two presentations above to finish up the Topic #9.
  
• Watch the VIDEO on  Understanding Car Crashes online in D2L and fill in the blanks on pp 49-50 so that you understand the concepts.
