ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr H gave the a presentation on Topic #12 How Climate Works

      Topic #12 How Climate Works [color pdf] 

In Sec 51+52 (but not Sec 53+54) we also had a Mini-Zombie Break as part of this presentation.  See these slides which explain tropical precipitation and the "Dance your PhD" video on YouTube which describes:    “Precipitation Initiation in Warm Clouds”

             

 2.  We then watched  the next segment of  Too Hot Not To Handle video:

"Too Hot Not To Handle"    The video is available in D2L.  The segment we watched goes from 11:00- 21:10 min

 

3.  A GROUP BONUS POINT  was announced related to the FEEDBACK LOOP in the "Melting Alaska" section of the video.  See the end of the #12 presentation linked above for the BONUS POINT DIRECTIONS .  We'll follow up on this on Thursday.

  

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

• ASSIGNMENT I-3 WORKSHEETS were submitted in class today, 

• The WRITE-UP part of I-3 is due in the D2L DROPBOX by 11:59 pm TONIGHT!

• RQ-6 is due on THURSDAY Oct 29th  Warning: there is LOTS of of reading this time!

• TEST #3 is scheduled for next TUESDAY Nov 2nd.  The TOP 10 will be posted later this week.

 

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• I-3 WORKSHEETS were  DUE TODAY in class!    They may ALSO be turned in at Thursday's class (without a late penalty).
  
• Watch the next segments of  Too Hot Not To Handle video in D2L from 11:00 min - 21:10 min
  
• Review the presentations on Topic #12 above & try to do the feedback loop question on Slide 61+62 (see page 58 in  Class Notes)
