ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr H gave the a presentation on Topic #12 Natural Climate Processes

As part of this presentation, we watched another "Dance your PhD" on YouTube:   “Precipitation Initiation in Warm Clouds”

             

 2.  We then watched  a short segment on "Melting Alaska" in the Too Hot Not To Handle video.

"Too Hot Not To Handle"    The video is available in D2L.  The segment we watched goes from 19:57- 24:00 min (we stopped at Rising Sea Level)

 

3.  The class then got into GROUPS to do a GROUP BONUS POINT.  See Slides 55- 58  in the Topic #12 presentation linked above for the BONUS POINT DIRECTIONS

      Then Dr H gave a short presentation to introduce the G-3 Assignment on the ENERGY BALANCE TERMS ( it's duplicated on p 54 in CLASS NOTES) 
                         We didn't have time to get going on it, so it will be done in class on Thursday.  You can work on it in advance on p 54 in Class Notes.

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

• RQ-6 is due on THURSDAY Oct 29th  Warning: there is LOTS of of reading this time!

• TEST #3 is scheduled for next TUESDAY Nov 3rd.  The TOP 10 will be posted later this week.

• EXAM  GRADING UPDATE – I’m nearing the finish line !  Will definitely be returned on THURSDAY!

 

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• I-3 was DUE TODAY in class!  Be sure you submit your I-3 Assignment as soon as possible.  See FAQ #20 for details about turning in an assignment if you miss class.
  
• Review the presentations on Topic #12 above & the Background for the G-3 Assignment. 
  
• Also watch the segment on "Alaska Melting" of the Too Hot Not To Handle video and try to do the two BONUS POINT activities on your own!  (see slides 55-58 in the Topic # 12 presentation linked above)
