In class today we did the following:
1. Dr. H reminded students that there is an RQ due in 2 days: RQ-7 on Ozone Depletion is due on Thursday Nov 5th -- 30 minutes before class!
However -- because it's HOMECOMING WEEK . . . there's a "special" with this RQ! See the following:If you complete RQ-7on Thursday Nov 5th before the cutoff, your final RQ grade will be your HIGHEST GRADE, not the average of all 3 attempts (which is how the RQ grade is usually computed).
If you DON'T get it in by Thursday's pre-class cutoff, you will still be allowed to complete it (until next Tuesday Nov 10)-- without submitting an Absolution Form -- but your grade will be based on the usual "Average of all 3 attempts" (and not your Highest grade).2. Dr H then told students that the 50 point GC-SAVVY CONSUMER TERM PROJECT is now posted in D2L -- students were asked to review it BEFORE class this Thursday and come to class with any questions about how to do it. If you get the Term Project in BEFORE Thanksgiving n the early due date of Tuesday Nov 24th, you will get 1 bonus point. Otherwise the due date is on Tuesday Dec 1st.
More details will be given in class on Thursday.3. Students were also asked to bring their DIRE PREDICTIONS textbook to class on Thursday.
4. Students then took Test #3 and also got an opportunity to earn a GROUP TEST BONUS POINT by answering questions about the globe Dr H brought to class.
5. After the Group Test, students finsihed up the G_3 Assignment and were allowed to leave.
1. Reminder not to forget RQ-7 due Thursday Nov 5th. (also see the HOMECOMING WEEK SPECIAL described in #1 above).
2. Please bring your DIRE PREDICTIONS textbook to class on Thursday -- you'll need it for one of the activities!
