ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1.  Dr H announced Deliverable #2 of the GC Savvy Consumer Term Project

Deliverable #2 is to write a PARAGRAPH that explains the specific link in your GC Savvy Project to GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE  and/or one or more of the NATS 101-GC course topics.
  
Submit your paragraph (in Word .doc or docx, or PDF) in your D2L DROPBOX before midnight (11:50 pm) next TUE Nov 17th  (worth 5 pts)

Remember these IMPORTANT GUIDELINES on the GC SAVVY COMSUMER PROJECT:

The purpose of the assignment is to link the GLOBAL CHANGE TOPICS OF THIS CLASS with your everyday life
 – so your consumer product research / selection criteria MUST have a direct link to at least ONE of our CLASS TOPICS!  e.g.:

 -Ecological Footprint / Carbon Footprint (food   choices/ vegetarian diet, transport vs. local food)
- Electromagnetic Spectrum & harmful UV radiation,   ozone depletion issues
- The balance between auto crashworthiness (Laws of   Motion) and fuel economy (GH Gas Emissions)
- Energy Efficiency ( solar, electronics w/ energy Star   ratings) - Deforestation / Sustainability (paper products,   recycling, etc.)


 2.   Dr H then gave the a presentation on Topic #15 Observations of Climatic Variability (pp 81-82 in Class Notes)
                                                                             + an introduction to the
#16 Global Warming Topic ( pp 86 & 88 in Class Notes)

3.  The class then got in groups and began planning for the G-6 "GROUP EXTRAVAGANZA  - Dire Predictions Presentations Assignment (which will take place after Thanksgiving).

4.  We then watched the start of a new movie "Kilowatt Ours" (the movie will be posted in D2L soon -- we watched the first 10-15 minutes of it.)
