ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1.  Students took Test #3

2. Dr. H passed out an yellow handout containing an overview of the remaining 2 homework assignments of the semester (I-5 & I-6).  She will explain them in more detail next week in class. While in groups today, DEBATE ROLES were selected by each student for the I-6 Global Warming Debate Assignment.   

3.  Students then completed GROUP ASSIGNMENT G-6 on Volcanism and Climate   (same as pp 109-110 in CLASS NOTES)

4.  Lastly, Dr H handed out vouchers for students who intend to go see "An Inconvenient Truth" at the Gallagher this weekend.  (See ANNOUNCEMENTS below for the times.)   The vouchers are supposed to get you in for $2 instead of $3 -- hope it works!  If you brin gyour voucher back signed, you will get a bonus point.   You can also write up a THINKING DEEPLY report on the movie to get 5 AP points.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

1.Next week we will start the GLOBAL WARMING topic.  RQ-7 is due date next Thursday Nov 9, before noon  Self Test ST-7  & RQ-7 will be posted this weekend.

2. THINKING DEEPLY OPPORTUNITY: 

Nov 2, 3, & 4 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) of this week   “An Inconvenient Truth” movie at the Gallagher Theater SHOW TIMES: 7 p & 10 pm

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• Contact Dr H IMMEDIATELY (phone or email) to arrange a make-up for Test #3.
   
• You missed the G-6 Volcanism and Climate  5 pt group activity.  You can still get credit for it by doing it on your own.
   Here's how:  Make a photocopy of pp 109-110 in CLASS NOTES, write your name + G-6 on it, and answer the questions.  Turn it in no later than next Tuesday Nov 7 in class.
   
• You will need to sign up for a  I-6 / G-9 DEBATE ROLE the NEXT time you are in your group.  Please familiarize yourself with the assignment so you can select a role
           I-6 Global Warming Debate Assignment
