LINKING-TO-LIFE PROJECT - PART A
YOUR ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT
(worth 5 pts)
[ Grading rubric is at the end ]

DIRECTIONS
updated @ 12:12 pm 8/28/2012

1)  Background Reading

2)  Compute your Ecological Footprint using calculator at this website:
                     http://www.footprintnetwork.org/en/index.php/GFN/page/calculators/

When you are done, your results will be displayed on the screen in a box that looks like the image below.

3)   Make a "Screen Shot" of this image and paste it  in an MS WORD doc file (.doc or .docx) with your name typed on it AND the text for item (4) which follows.
(indicating the date you calculated your Footprint).
You will use this in class and may need to refer back to later in the semester as your project evolves.

4) Write a Short Summary of what you noticed about what’s contributing to YOUR Footprint and include it in the same document with your Footprint Results screen shot (item (3) above.

Your summary should be about one paragraph long and  written in your own words (100-200 words ).  Be specific about what you observed about the connection between the choices you made as you took the footprint quiz and the resulting categories that are spelled out in the Footprint Results box  (see the box with Stella Student's results below).   Her paragraph could contain an explanation of what in her lifestyle leads to  so much "Energy Land" being required.  Or her paragraph could compare her own results with the average for the USA (posted at the bottom of this page.
