with emphasis on variations in synoptic atmospheric circulation systems, the climatology of extreme events, and mechanisms of climatic change

Hydroclimatology and surface water hydrology
with emphasis on flood analysis, flood hydroclimatology, and the response of hydrologic systems to spatial and temporal variations in climate

Dendroclimatology
with emphasis on synoptic dendroclimatology, drought, and the link between atmospheric circulation processes and regional tree-growth patterns
