ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

This week is TREE RING WEEK!  While Dr H is out of the country presenting at an academic conference, our expert Graduate Tree-Ring Lab Teaching Assistants will be covering tree rings and facilitating 2 graded group activities.

Remember: Dr H will be out of town this week and may not be able to respond to an emails (or grade report requests) while gone.  Please contact one of the TA's instead with your course questions.  Laura Marshall can do a grade check for you in my absence.

 1.  T.A.  Elizabeth May gave a presentation on Natural Archives and Introduction to Tree Rings.  Posted below is a presentation very similar to the one she gave:

2. The class got into Groups for the G-2 Assignment on Tree-Ring Wood Kits  (not G-3 which will be done on Wednesday and Friday in class) 

   Here's a quick overview of the class directions - but if you missed class, you will have to make this up by attending one of the TA's office hours.

The MIDTERM EXAM is on Wednesday Oct 10th.

A MIDTERM STUDY GUIDE is now posted in D2L -- it is updated for 2012.

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• Go over the presentations above and read through Topic #9 in Class Notes pp 49-51.

• IMPORTANT! To make up the  G-2 & G-3 Tree-Ring  Graded Group  activities, you MUST attend one of the TA's office hours
                     in order to complete the activities with the wood specimens and tree ring data.  Bring your ClassNotes --- you will need to refer to the pages in the appendix.
