ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

 1.  Class began with  some practice clicker questions to prepare for Test #2  (see the posted presentation)

2.  Then Dr H gave a presentation on Topic #8 - Part II on the Laws of Thermodynamics & Motion

2.  We had a short break in mid-lecture to watch this video on HEAT TRANSFER -- it's a good review for Test #2

 

  3.  After going through the Laws of Motion portion of the presentation, the class then watched the first 10 minutes of  "Understanding Car Crashes, It's Basic Physics" (produced by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) http://www.iihs.org/ which illustrates the Laws of Motion as they apply to driving and riding in an automobile!

4.  Lastly the class got into GROUPS and started the G-2 ENERGY EFFICIENCY  GROUP ACTIVITY  ( you can work through it yourself on pp 117 -119 in CLASS NOTES.)  
                                                 There wasn't enough time to finish it, so groups will be able to finish it up AFTER TEST #2 next Tuesday.
