ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1  Dr H announced that an updated Semester-on-a-Page / Reading Schedule handout would be distributed today (bright yellow handout in the group folders).

 Individual Assignment I-1 Making Skeleton Plots of Tree-Ring Core Samples was also assigned (green handout in group folders).  I-1 is due on TUESDAY OCT 5th

Dr H also reminded everyone that the RQ-2 cutoff will be BEFORE our next class - please have it complete by NOON Tuesday Sep 28th.

2. We watched some more of the "The Methuselah Tree" video.  The last section will be played on Thursday.

3.  Next Dr H gave a presentation on  Introduction to Dendrochronology

4. At the end of the presentation, your PRECEPTOR TEAM was introduced and directions on how to do Group Assignment G-3 were given.

5.  The class then got into TEAMS and worked on G-3 Classifying Wood Samples from Different Types of Trees which you can find on pp 153-153  in CLASS NOTES.  There will be time at the beginning of class on Tuesday to finish it up.


ANNOUNCEMENTS  

1)  Please TAKE HOME your graded individual work – do not leave your papers in the folders.

 

2) An updated Semester-on-a-Page & Reading Schedule handout is in your folders! (It includes the cutoff dates for all RQ’s)  Please paste or staple it into your CLASS NOTES packet.  The new version is also online. 

 

3)  RQ-2 is now available and the cutoff is NOON on TUESDAY Sep 28.  SC-2 & SC 3 are also posted to help in your understanding of the reading.

 

4)  Your first INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT I-1 was assigned today (worth 10 points!)  (See the green handout & the ASSIGNMENT link in WebCT).  I-1 is DUE TUESDAY OCT 5th at the beginning of class.
