ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1.  Dr H made some suggestions for improving the quality of the GROUP WORK.  Click Here [MS doc] for these suggestions and the criteria for the grading of Assignment G-1

2. Dr H then gave a presentation on Topic #10 The Earth's Energy Balance. 

      Topic #10 The Earth's Energy Balance 
                    with a section reviewing on Thermodynamics:  conduction, convection, radiation + Sensible Heat (H) and Latent H (LE)

3.  Students got into Groups to work on Assignment G-4 Applying the Energy Balance Terms on page 65 in the Class Notes Packet.  Most groups needed more time so it will be finished up in class on Thursday Sept 28th after the GROUP TEST.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

• Test #2 is this Thursday Sep 28th --the “Top 10” is posted in D2L

• There will be a Pre-Test Study Session on Wed Sep 27 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in ILC 151

• The preceptors will also hold “Virtual” study sessions on Wednesday night  in the GC CHAT ROOM in D2L from  8 - 10 pm w/ Lara and from 11:00 pm – midnight  w/ Joanna

• There are no RQ’s due this week or next!
   

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• Review the extremely important presentation on Topic #10 above.  This material is not in your textbook.
• You missed the first part of  Assignment G-4 Applying the Energy Balance Terms.  Get caught up with your group by going through the lecture and trying to answer # 1- 12  (p 65 in CLASS NOTES) on your own.  The class will be finishing this assignment on Thursday Sep 28th after the GROUP TEST.
