ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1.  Dr H gave  finished up Topic #8 and then continued with a presentation on Topic #9  The Radiation Laws  Students used the RESPONDERS to answer questions in the presentation.  In the posted presentation below, the RED arrow or bar represents the CORRECT answer to each question:

2.  We ran out of time to go over the SUMMARY OF KEY CONCEPTS at the end of the presentation.  You can print out a copy of the 4 key points to add to your notes by clicking here:

3.  All students who were still in class at the end of lecture and submitted the required info earned 1 Bonus Point for being in class and for staying attentive during a long lecture! (esp. one plagued by technical difficulties!)

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

1) RQ-3 is due next Tuesday BEFORE class – the cutoff is noon

2) I-1 on Skeleton Plotting is due next Tuesday at the START of class – please visit us during office hours if you need guidance.

•3)   Test # 2 is a week from today on Thursday Oct 7th  -- the Top 10 will be posted this weekend.

4) NOTE: The next 4 classes are EXTREMELY important classes -- please be here in class or make arrangements to make up the work right away if you have to miss class due to illness, religious holiday, etc.:

  •  Tue Oct 5 -- Topic # 10 Atmospheric Structure & Composition Come to class with I-1 completed.  You will need to know how to make a skeleton plot, pattern match, and crossdate for Question # 10 on Test #2

  •  Thu Oct 7 -- Test #2

  •  Tue Oct 12th Tree-Ring Project Class Activity (graded).  You will need this class and the Oct 7th class to be able to write your P-1 Tree-Ring Project Report.

  •  Thu Oct 14th -- The Midterm Exam
