Cartoon Climate Change Cover This Bonus Opportunity coincides with the visit to the UA of of Dr. Yoram Bauman, a Ph.D.  Economist who is also very interested and concerned about Climate Change.  He is the author of our recommended text:  The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change.  Even if you have NOT purchased the book, you can still do this bonus activity, but you will need to learn more about the book, read some excerpts, and learn some material that complements our course material well

There are 4 Steps to this Bonus Opportunity (which is worth up to 4 bonus points).  Doing the first 3 steps will help you get the full 4 points.

  STEP 1:   Familiarize yourself with who Dr. Yoram Bauman, and why he wrote The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change by viewing the video below and reading this short online piece.

STEP 2:   Read following EXCERPTS from the book, which can also be found posted by the author at his website.  They cover some of the topics we will NOT have time to cover in much depth this semester, so they are a great complement to our course.

STEP 3:   Read the NOTES posted at the link below for different pages in the book.  The notes contain supplementary information related to the science content the book is based on:

STEP 4:  Attend Dr. Bauman's presentation on Monday September 29th and write up a  summary  (250-300 words) of what you learned in Steps 1 through 3, as well as the presentation itself (if you were able to attend it.)

To organize your write-up, first complete the table at THIS LINK based on Steps 2 and 3 and the presentation (if you were able to attend it.)  Attach the table to your write-up and submit both to your D2L Dropbox under Bonus4 by 11:59 pm Sunday Oct 5th

HOW WILL BONUS POINTS BE AWARDED?  
Points will be awarded based on the effort you put in on creating the table by filling out rows and writing up what you learned in your written summary: 
1 bonus point for every two (2) rows filled in on the table, plus a thoughtful writeup.
